IT Project Manager (Fixed-term)

THE OPPORTUNITY

We have a 6-month opportunity for a junior to mid-level IT Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO). The purpose of this role is to independently plan, monitor, control and deliver IT and IT-related projects successfully. As an IT Project Manager within our Project Management Office (PMO), you will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects within the organisation. Your role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders, managing project resources, and ensuring projects are completed within scope, budget, and timeline.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage end-to-end IT projects, from initiation to closure, adhering to project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT developers, business analysts, operations, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Define project goals, objectives, and success criteria, and ensure alignment with organisational strategies and priorities.
  • Manage project risks and issues, proactively identifying and mitigating potential roadblocks to ensure project success.
  • Monitor and control project progress, tracking key milestones, deliverables, and budget utilisation.
  • Prepare regular project status reports, providing accurate updates to project sponsors and senior management.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among project team members, facilitating productive meetings and workshops.
  • Ensure adherence to project governance frameworks, change management processes, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management practices, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.
  • Conduct project post-mortems and create recommendations reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
  • Participate in vendor selection processes including the development of RFPs, bids evaluation, and contract negotiation.

REQUIREMENTS

  • An IT-related qualification or degree is preferred as well as a qualification or accreditation in Project Management.
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in IT project management, preferably within the retail or fast-food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Monday.com).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage IT projects from initiation to successful completion.
